The Aspire Sports Centre, powered by the Bachar Houli Foundation, recently launched its Building for Generations fundraising campaign with its event at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
The Building for Generations event was a defining step forward in the journey of the Aspire Sports Centre, as community supporters and partners were proudly welcomed to celebrate the vision for a facility that will empower generations to come.
Guests heard from Bachar Houli and Ali Fahour, both of whom reflected on the Centre’s vision and the legacy it aims to create for future generations.
The evening celebrated the vision behind the Aspire Sports Centre, with architect John Hayball highlighting the key features of the state‑of‑the‑art facility that will be powered by the Bachar Houli Foundation.
Set to open in 2028, the Aspire Sports Centre will place a strong focus on education, sport and community, providing opportunities for young people to learn, grow and thrive for generations to come.
It was also a proud moment for the Islamic College of Sport (ICS), with students Koda Hawli and Noura Abdul Qader selected to speak at the event. Both students represented the College with confidence and professionalism, embodying the leadership, character and values that ICS strives to instill in every learner.
The Aspire Sports Centre will feature a $25 million purpose‑built precinct including 12 classrooms and multi-purpose spaces, an indoor sports hall, high‑performance gym and recovery facilities, a prayer room, canteen and a dedicated function space.
The success of the fundraising event marks an exciting step forward in creating a cutting-edge high-performance environment where young people can excel academically, athletically and personally.
